Update on Victoria.

Thanks so much for your comments and prayers from my previous post!  After another frustrating (though not so bad as Saturday) night, we went to see the doc this morning and she has an ear infection -- apparently pretty bad.  The doctor was surprised considering she had such a short, low-grade fever.  She gave me antibiotics...ugh.  Although I'm against antibiotics generally, I'm thinking we should still take them because the infection is so strong.  I always hate that decision.  I don't want her to suffer or get a secondary infection.  Agh.

She also had a throat virus -- although I completely forgot to ask specifically which one -- and she does have small blister like things at the back of her palate.  Nothing to be done for that except fluids and Tylenol.

Anyway...so there's the update.  Thanks again for everyone's wisdom and insight.  You're more valuable than you know to those of us who are venturing for the first time into parenthood.

Now I'm heading to the oral surgeon to get some wisdom teeth pulled.  Ick.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about her ear infection and throat, she must be absolutely miserable, the poor little thing.

I was plagued with ear infections as a child and I remember clearly how painful they were.

She seems like quite the little trooper. Bless her heart.

I'm so sorry to hear about her ear infection! Those can be so terrible to suffer through. I'm glad she has been diagnosed and is hopefully already feeling much better!

I'm glad you took her in and found out what the trouble was. It is always hard to know when to go in, since you don't want to pick up something else in the waiting room! Don't feel bad about the antibiotics. She may not get another infection for years after this; my 5 year old has only had one. Good luck with your teeth, too!

Hello there!

I found your lovely blog while visiting other blog friends, and hope you don't mind if I put in my two cents' worth about ear/throat infections. You might want to try going dairy free in the future; we have been dairy-free for 12 years now, and have never had ear or throat infections in that time (we had plenty before).

Just a thought!

I hope little Victoria is doing better now; that's no fun.

Love,

Marqueta
